What I Eat

food trip - going to places, eating food, having fun.. almost everytime alone. :-P

this is the story of my adventure with one of my favorite things in the world, food!!

If you have stories/rumors about good food around, please share it with us. ^^ You can leave your contact in any of the disqus comments (I will still have to find a good tagboard, sorry -_-)

At Tesshou, a Tsuke-men ramen in Shin Yokohama It was a cold winter that day so my colleagues and i decided to try out a ramen shop in the neighborhood. So we picked this one, it’s a Tsuke-men ramen house. Tsuke-men literally means “with ramen”. You are usually served with a ramen set with its soup separated from the ramen. You basically dip the ramen on to the soup stock and eat it. What is special about this store is the volume of the bowl. It’s almost the size of a wash bin (actually it’s probably the size of the wash bin come to think of it). One service can feel 3 persons, IMO. We didn’t know that when we ordered the set so we have to struggle in finishing the bowl. I was able to manage to eat most of the ramen in the bowl but it’s still enough to 1 person. The soup and the ramen is mediocre but the volume, well, it’s special. If you want to challenge yourself into a food eating competition, go to this place and you won’t be disappointed. Another plus points in this restaurant too is that the price of this huge set is no more than 1000 yen (about $10 dollars) Taken sometime winter of 2010
